1. User Accounts Synchronization
- PureData AD Sync Utility: This utility runs daily to synchronize users (students, staff, teachers) from PowerSchool to the Active Directory server. This automation ensures that your user accounts are always up-to-date, reducing manual data entry and administrative overhead.
2. Password Synchronization
- PureData AD Sync - Web API: Integrated with the Password Sync utility on your premises, this API ensures password updates, maintaining secure and efficient access management.
Configuration Overview
A. Configured on PureData Managed Cloud Server
- AD Sync Utility: Automates the daily synchronization of user data.
- AD Sync - Web API: Supports password synchronization through your local AD server.
B. Configured on Client’s Local Server (Active Directory)
- Password Sync Utility: This utility uses a Web API to connect and synchronize password changes for user accounts.
Pre-Requisites for Integration
To ensure a smooth and effective integration, please prepare the following before initiating the setup process:
1. Network Configuration
- Whitelist PureData Cloud Server IP: Ensure that the IP address of the PureData Cloud Server is whitelisted on your network to allow seamless connectivity.
2. Server Access
- Access to AD Server via RDP: Necessary for examining the OU layout and groups prior to integration.
3. Administrative Access
- Admin Credentials: We require administrative credentials (username and password) with permissions to manage users, OUs, and groups on the AD server.
