Introduction

Managing student behavior is a critical aspect of creating a supportive and effective learning environment. The PureData PowerSchool Behavior Plugin enhances PowerSchool by allowing teachers and administrators to efficiently address and record behavioral incidents. This tool facilitates the escalation of behavioral issues to administrators for timely interventions. In this article, we will guide you through the processes of assigning and tracking consequences for student behaviors.

Pre-Requisite Setup:

• Navigate to the Setup tab.
• Select Create Teacher and Admin Action.
• In the Admin Action text box, enter all the consequences (or Admin Actions) you want to use, separated by commas. These actions will be available for assignment when logging behavioral incidents.

Configure Consequence Served - Admin Actions:

• Navigate to the Setup tab.
• Select Configure Consequence Served - Admin Actions.
• For each consequence (Admin Action) you added, map it to a unique log type.
  • Important: The log type should differ from the behavior/discipline log type. Typically, the log type for consequences served should be something like 'Consequence Served', with a Subtype like 'Served'.

Assigning Consequences for Student Behaviors

1. Log In to PowerSchool Admin:

2. Navigate to PureData Behavior Management: Click on 'PureData Behavior Management' under the Applications menu.

3. Access the Behavior Log:

   • Choose to view behaviors through either the 'All Logs' report or directly through 'Referrals Report'.
   • Select a specific entry to edit by clicking on 'Edit Entry', where you can review detailed information about the behavior.

4. Assign a Consequence:

   • After reviewing the behavior details, assign the appropriate consequence using the 'Admin Action' and 'Duration' fields on the page.

1. Access Consequence Management:

   • Navigate to 'PureData Behavior Management' under Applications.

2. Go to the Track Consequences Tab:

   • Use the provided filters to select a date range and 'Admin Action' type. The default date aligns with the PowerSchool Term filter.
   • Click 'Search' to generate a report of consequences.

4. Update Consequence Status:

   • Once a student has served their assigned consequence, update the 'Served Duration' from the dropdown menu and submit the changes.
