Quick Reference Guide
Alerts can be entered for a student to notify Teachers and Staff of important information (Such as a food allergy).
This article goes over the steps for entering the various kinds of alerts.
Medical Alert
- Login to the PowerSchool /admin portal
- From the Start Page, select the student
- Open the students Emergency/Medical screen
- Enter the text to be displayed in Medical Alert Text
- Enter the date the alert expires, if any, in Alert Expires (date)
- Click Submit
The medical alert icon pictured below will be displayed when the student record is viewed. Clicking the icon will display the values from Medical Alert Text and Alert Expires (date)
Parent/Guardian Alert
- Login to the PowerSchool /admin portal
- From the Start Page, select the student
- Open the students Parents screen
- Enter the text to be displayed in Guardian Alert
- Enter the date the alert expires, if any, in Alert Expires (date)
- Click Submit
The parent alert icon pictured below will be displayed when the student record is viewed. Clicking the icon will display the values from Guardian Alert and Alert Expires (date)
Discipline Alert
- Login to the PowerSchool /admin portal
- From the Start Page, select the student
- Open the students Log Entries screen
- Click Edit Discipline Alert
- Enter the text to be displayed in Discipline Alert Text
- Enter the date the alert expires, if any, in Alert Expires (date)
- Click Submit
The discipline alert icon pictured below will be displayed when the student record is viewed. Clicking the icon will display the values from Discipline Alert Text and Alert Expires (date)
Other Alert
- Login to the PowerSchool /admin portal
- From the Start Page, select the student
- Open the students Other Information screen
- Enter the text to be displayed in Other Alert Text
- Enter the date the alert expires, if any, in Alert Expires (date)
- Click Submit
The other alert icon pictured below will be displayed when the student record is viewed. Clicking the icon will display the values from Other Alert Text and Alert Expires (date)
Balance Alert
Balance alerts are generated automatically based on a students current balance. The settings for when a balance alert are generated and what they say can be found at: Start Page > School Setup > Balance Alert
The balance l alert icon pictured below will be displayed when the student record is viewed. Clicking the icon will display the students Lunch and Fee balances, and the text from the Balance Alert page.
